Ask an AI where your week went
An AI assistant is good at spotting patterns in what you did, but only if it has an honest record to read. Most people do not have one. Hourly builds it for you, one sentence an hour, and turns it into text you can paste straight into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
How it works
- Once every hour of real activity, Hourly asks what you just did. You answer in one sentence.
- In Settings, open Export and choose the period: today, the last 7 days, the last 30 days or all entries.
- Choose a format: Markdown with a heading for each day, plain text with one line per entry, or JSON for your own tools.
- Click Copy to clipboard and paste it into the chat, or Save as file to upload it.
A ready made instruction
Tick Start with a short instruction for the AI and the export begins with this, so you do not have to write a prompt:
Below is my personal log of what I did, written down about once an hour. The entries may be in any language. Please read it and tell me where my time went, what I got done, and any patterns or problems you notice. Then suggest one or two small changes for next week.
Questions worth asking
- How much of my week went to meetings, and how much to focused work?
- Which days were the most productive, and what did they have in common?
- What did I keep postponing?
- Write a short summary of last week for my manager.
Your data, your choice
Hourly never sends your entries anywhere. They stay in a file on your computer, and in your Obsidian daily note if you choose a notes folder. An export only reaches an AI assistant when you paste it there yourself, so you can read it first and remove anything private.
